Background
The City of San Bruno, through its Public Works Department, is seeking to retain professional engineering services for the design of the 2025-26 Street Pavement Project. Work Details
The selected consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. **Project Management and Coordination**: Includes project coordination, monitoring, administration, attending various meetings (kickoff, progress, design review), public outreach, budget monitoring, quality assurance/quality control activities, and preparing monthly progress reports.
2. **Site Investigation and Data Collection**: Review existing records and data relevant to the project scope; coordinate with utilities for mapping and potential relocations.
3. **Preliminary Design (30% Design Submittal)**: Estimate quantities for base repair and asphalt concrete per street segment; identify non-compliant curb ramps; prepare preliminary construction cost estimates; recommend streets for inclusion in the Base Bid package based on PCI.
4. **Initial Design Submittal (60% Design)**: Prepare rehabilitation plans; field mark base repair locations; draft technical specifications; provide curb ramp design details.
5. **Pre-Final Design Submittal (90% Design)**: Prepare complete construction documents including detailed drawings and specifications.
6. **Final Design Submittal (100% Design)**: Incorporate feedback from previous submissions and submit final drawings along with specifications.
7. **Bid and Construction Support**: Assist with bidding processes, respond to contractor inquiries during construction, conduct site visits, and prepare as-built drawings.
Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence upon consultant selection in July 2025 and will continue through December 2026 for construction activities.
