Description
Background
The City of Long Beach, through its Department of Economic Development, is seeking proposals from qualified organizations to purchase and utilize twelve (12) modular Connect Shelters units. These units will provide a total of thirty-three (33) single-occupancy units intended for interim housing for individuals experiencing homelessness.
The initiative aims to address the regional homelessness crisis by providing stabilizing shelter and supportive services while connecting individuals with permanent housing resources.
Work Details
The awarded organization will be responsible for the complete transportation of all awarded units from the City’s storage facility to their desired location. The organization must demonstrate financial feasibility and identify funding for project relocation and operation without financial support from the City.
Each modular unit is approximately 10’ by 10’, equipped with a private restroom and shower, bed, storage space, individual HVAC system, and connections to water, power, and sewage systems. Six (6) units will be accessible for individuals with disabilities. The organization must also provide a business plan for ongoing operation of the units as interim housing or other proposed uses.
Period of Performance
The contract is structured as a rolling RFP with submissions accepted continuously until an award is made. Proposals will be evaluated approximately every 30 days.
Place of Performance
The location for the delivery and operation of the modular units will be determined by the awarded organization but must comply with local regulations.
Bidder Requirements
Proposers must qualify to conduct business in Long Beach, not have been debarred by any government entity, and possess mandatory licenses. They must also provide proof of financial stability and demonstrate experience in managing similar projects.
