Background
The San Bernardino County Flood Control District operates and maintains over 3,000 flood channels, basins, storm drains, dams, and levees. The District is seeking qualified consultants to provide the design of a master planned facility known as Bandicoot Basin (Zone 4, System 4-451-4A).
This project follows the Hesperia Master Plan of Drainage dated May 1996 and aims to create a regional detention basin upstream of the California Aqueduct.
Work Details
The contract involves providing Professional Civil Engineering Services for the design of Bandicoot Basin. Key tasks include:
1. Preparing necessary Hydrology and Hydraulic reports per the City of Hesperia MPD.
2. Coordinating with DSOD and DWR for approvals.
3. Conducting field reviews and project meetings.
4. Developing a Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plan.
5. Creating an Engineer's Cost Estimate with periodic updates at 35%, 65%, and 95% completion.
6. Utility coordination including mapping existing utilities and assisting in relocations.
7. Environmental services ensuring compliance with CEQA regulations.
8. Structural design engineering services for various concrete structures including inlet/outlet structures, spillways, culverts, etc.
9. Traffic control plan preparation including signing, striping plans, and detour plans.
10. Surveying tasks based on provided survey data from the District.
Period of Performance
The contract period will be for a maximum of three years starting from the date the contract is awarded.

The services will be performed throughout San Bernardino County, with specific tasks managed from the Consultant’s office.
