Background
The California Department of Forestry & Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is seeking a service contract for a statewide early intervention injury management and navigation service which works in coordination with the existing workers’ compensation Medical Provider Network and existing healthcare programs. The initial contract will provide services for a Two (2)-Year Pilot Project, with the option to extend to a third year of service under the same terms as bid by the successful Contractor.
Work Details
The contractor shall be responsible for assisting injured individuals statewide in navigating the health care process. This includes scheduling appointments with doctors, diagnostic testing services, physical therapy, and all related medical needs.
The service aims to eliminate unnecessary appointments, reduce the time to definitive care, and reduce the time between appointments. It will keep specified parties informed of all steps in the process and serve as the single point of contact regarding the contracted services for the injured individuals. The service will work directly and collaboratively with CAL FIRE’s Workers Compensation process, as well as the injured individual’s insurance providers.
Employees shall have access to services year-round; Anticipated but not limited to approximately 2,000 requests per year.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of two years initially, with an option to extend to a third year.
