RFP 2000003942 - Insurance Brokerage Services (Bench)

Background
The Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), the second largest school district in the nation, serves over 550,000 students and employs more than 78,000 staff members. The District is seeking qualified vendors to provide comprehensive insurance brokerage services to ensure and/or reinsure all District operations and exposures. This includes managing various insurance programs such as workers' compensation, general liability coverage, and the Owner Controlled Insurance Program.

Work Details
The selected contractor will provide a range of insurance brokerage services including:

1. Claims-Related Services: Verify policies, assist with claims management, monitor claims against excess carriers, and provide quarterly reports on claims.

2. Program Marketing: Prepare applications for insurance coverage, market various insurance options, advise on negotiations with underwriters, and propose innovative coverages.

3. Program Analysis and Risk Transfer: Recommend cost-reduction strategies for insurance programs and develop reports on risk management practices.

4. Insurance Policy Services: Attend meetings related to insurance policies, prepare certificates of insurance, bind coverage, and maintain historical records of policies.

5. LAUSD Risk Management Authority Program Administration: Act as a liaison among all parties involved in the program, monitor coverage balance and stability, assist with safety programming, and manage financial records related to the program.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2025, with a period of performance lasting five (5) years. There are also two (2) one-year renewal options at the sole discretion of the District.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed primarily within the geographic boundaries of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
