Description

Work Requested:
The project involves the construction of two new aboveground welded steel reservoirs, Reservoirs 4711-3 and 4711-4, each with a capacity of 1.0 million gallons (MG). The scope of work also includes the demolition of the existing Reservoirs 4711-1 and 4711-2, which each have a capacity of 100,000 gallons.

The contractor will be responsible for:
  • Site clearing and grading
  • Earthwork and over-excavation
  • Construction of reservoir foundations
  • Installation of berm and riprap
  • Building retaining walls
  • Installation of piping, coating, and painting
  • Electrical work
  • Installation of solar panels and batteries
  • Seismic equipment box bracing
  • Instrumentation systems
  • Cathodic protection systems
  • New site fencing, including Desert Tortoise Exclusion fencing
  • All necessary and related appurtenances, completed, in place, and operational as shown in the Contract Drawings

Requesting Entity:
This solicitation is issued in connection with funding provided in part by the Water Quality, Supply, and Infrastructure Improvement Act of 2014 and through a Grant Agreement with the State Department of Water Resources.

Background:
The project is part of ongoing efforts to improve water storage infrastructure. The new reservoirs will replace the existing, smaller reservoirs to enhance capacity and operational reliability.

Contract Requirements:
The contractor must comply with all standard and basic conditions and requirements set forth by the State Department of Water Resources. This includes:
  • Posting signage in a prominent location at the project site, which must include the Department of Water Resources color logo
  • Allowing the State the right to access the project site and inspect work being performed at all reasonable times, including work performed by subcontractors
  • Providing written notice to the State for any events or proposed changes that could affect the scope of work, schedule or term, and budget
  • Obtaining written approval from the State prior to proceeding with any changes to the work
