Contractor shall replace all check valves, corroded grooved pipe/fitting, float control switches, electrical junction boxes/fittings and conduit below deck associated with the pumping system to Caltrans.
Background

Work Details

1. Plumbing and sewer removal, disposal, pumping, excavation, and replacement of existing sump/sewage pump and dewatering system.
2. Replacement of all check valves, corroded grooved pipe/fitting, float control switches, electrical junction boxes/fittings and conduit associated with the pumping system as per Caltrans specifications.
3. Installation of a new sump pump that meets local codes and safety ordinances.
4. Excavation of a new sump pit with dimensions typically 18-24 inches in diameter and 24-30 inches deep.
5. Installation of a dewatering pump to manage excess groundwater.
6. Electrical connections for both pumps wired to dedicated Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlets.
7. Testing both systems for proper functionality after installation.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence on May 19, 2025 (estimate), or upon approval by Caltrans, whichever is later.
The agreement will expire on May 18, 2026 (estimate).

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Long Beach Maintenance Station located at 22101 Santa Fe Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90810.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid Contractor's State License Board (CSLB) license appropriate for the work being undertaken (Class A General Engineer Contractor license or Class B General Building Contractor license or C-36 plumbing Contractor license).
Bidders must also have a current registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
This contract requires compliance with prevailing wage laws if the total bid exceeds $15,000. Additionally, bidders must submit a non-collusion declaration and may be required to provide proof of insurance.
