Background
The City of Chico is undertaking the Primary Clarifiers Rehabilitation Project at the Water Pollution Control Plant, aimed at enhancing wastewater treatment capabilities.
The project involves the rehabilitation of three existing primary clarifiers to ensure efficient operation and compliance with environmental standards.
The total estimated cost for this project is approximately $8,900,000, funded through local sources.

Work Details
The contract encompasses the following tasks:
- Selective demolition of clarifier components;
- Structural concrete repair;
- Surface preparation and application of epoxy coatings;
- Installation of new mechanical equipment including sludge collectors, scum skimmers, drives, and sludge gates;
- Electrical and instrumentation improvements;
- Associated site work including temporary bypass operations.
Construction will occur in phases with only one clarifier offline at a time.

Period of Performance
The project is expected to be completed within 745 calendar days from the start date.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the City of Chico Water Pollution Control Plant located at 4827 Chico River Road, Chico, CA 95928.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid Class A Contractor License or a combination of licenses appropriate for the work.
Contractors must also be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and comply with prevailing wage laws as per California Labor Code Section 1770 et seq.
A mandatory pre-bid meeting is required for all prospective bidders to ensure eligibility.
