Background
The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is seeking a contractor to provide pipette calibration and repair services for the Plant Pest Diagnostics Branch (PPDB). The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper functioning of pipettes used in diagnostics, which are critical for the agency's mission. This contract will cover annual preventive maintenance, calibration, and necessary repairs for a total of 168 pipettes located at 3294 Meadowview Road, Sacramento, CA 95832.
Work Details
The contractor shall provide services for the preventative maintenance and calibration of 128 single-channel pipettes and 40 multi-channel pipettes. Services include all parts, materials, test equipment, tools, travel, shipping, and labor necessary to perform these tasks. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Onsite preventive maintenance and calibration services Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays.
2. Include parts, labor, and travel for repairs as agreed under the current agreement.
3. Submit written estimates for parts and labor to the Contract Manager before commencing repairs.
4. Cover shipping costs for any off-site repairs.
5. Respond to service calls within two business days (48 hours).
6. Provide priority telephone and email technical support as needed.
7. Repair pipettes with issues within six months of preventive maintenance at no additional cost.
8. Provide a calibration report in PDF or Excel format to the Technical Contract Manager.

The contract term is from April 15, 2026, through April 14, 2028.
