Pedestrian Path Improvements on Casa Loma Drive and Union Avenue at Union Pacific Railroad Crossing

The contract work involves the construction of pedestrian path improvements on Casa Loma Drive and Union Avenue at the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing. This includes constructing curb and gutter, sidewalk, drive approaches, driveways, and curb ramps; paving with hot mix asphalt; installing roadside signs, handrails, fences, and gates; relocating mailboxes and roadside signs; reconstructing fences, gates, and block walls; resetting gates; removing pedestrian head; replacing the existing section 3 ball head with a 4 section head; removing the existing 3 section arrow head; removing traffic stripes and thermoplastic pavement markings; and applying thermoplastic traffic stripes and pavement markings. The County of Kern (County) is requesting these services. This contract is being issued for the purpose of improving pedestrian paths at the specified locations, in accordance with the plans and special provisions referenced for the project. Contract requirements include meeting a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goal of 21%. Sealed Bids for this construction project will be accepted until 11:00 a.m. on October 22, 2025. Bids may be mailed via United States Postal Service to Kern County Public Works Department, 2700 M Street, Suite 400, Bakersfield, California, 93301; delivered in person or by courier service to the Kern County Public Works Department, Suite 400, 4th Floor, Public Services Building, 2700 M Street, Bakersfield, California; or, from 10:45 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., delivered in person to the first floor meeting room of the Public Services Building.
