P-26-30520-000 - Fire Extinguisher/Fire Suppression System Maintenance and Oven Hood Cleaning

Background
The Department of State Hospitals (DSH) is seeking bids for a contractor to perform Fire Extinguisher/Fire Suppression System Maintenance and Oven Hood Cleaning at the DSH-Patton facility, a forensic psychiatric hospital located in Patton, CA. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and compliance of fire safety equipment within the hospital, which provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients. This project is classified as a public works project under Labor Code 1720.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all necessary materials, supplies, tools, equipment, transportation, licenses, permits, prevailing wages, insurance, bonds, and personnel to perform the following services:

1. Fire Extinguisher Maintenance including inspection, testing, and recharging as necessary.

2. Fire Suppression System Maintenance including inspection and servicing of fire suppression systems installed in kitchen areas.

3. Oven Hood Cleaning to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

The contractor must adhere to all specifications outlined in Attachment 18 (Sample Agreement) and Exhibit A (Scope of Work).

Period of Performance
The anticipated term of the agreement is from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Department of State Hospitals - Patton located at 3102 East Highland Avenue, Patton, CA 92369.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 if the total bid exceeds $25,000. Bidders must provide proof of a Low Pressure Retester Identification Number (RIN) license issued by the Department of Transportation and a current State Fire Marshal approved Fire Extinguisher License. Additionally, bidders must submit three references from similar service contracts completed within the last two years.
