Background
The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts are a public agency focused on converting waste into resources like recycled water, energy, and recycled materials. Established in 1923, the agency consists of 24 independent special districts serving approximately 5.5 million people across 850 square miles in Los Angeles County.
The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit qualifications and proposals from experienced firms to provide on-call graphic design and creative communication services that support the Districts’ public information, education, and outreach efforts.
Work Details
The selected firm(s) will provide graphic design, creative development, and production services on an as-needed basis. Services may include:
1. Concept Development & Campaign Design: Developing creative concepts and visual themes tailored to project goals while collaborating with District staff.
2. Graphic Design & Layout: Designing collateral materials such as reports, brochures, flyers, newsletters, posters, fact sheets, signage, and digital assets; developing templates for consistent branding; preparing materials for print and digital distribution.
3. Digital Media Production: Creating digital content including social media graphics, email visuals, website graphics; producing short videos and animations.
4. Copywriting & Editing: Drafting and editing written content for various materials ensuring clarity and consistency with District standards.
5. Photography & Illustration: Providing original photography and illustrations as needed.
Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of one (1) year with an estimated total contract amount of $60,000. The Districts may extend the agreement for one additional year at their discretion.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the geographic areas served by the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts.
Bidder Requirements
Proposers must demonstrate experience in graphic design within a public-sector or community-focused context. Firms must be located within California and authorized to conduct business in the state.
