Background
Sundt Construction Inc. is soliciting bids on behalf of the San Diego Unified School District for the Albert Einstein Academy Charter High School Increment 1 project. The project aims to enhance educational facilities and is part of a broader initiative to improve school infrastructure within the district.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Abatement and demolition of an existing six-story concrete structure
- Temporary shoring
- Construction of permanent site retaining walls
- Onsite utilities installation
- Offsite utilities improvements
- Other related enhancements.

Bidders must possess appropriate California State Contractors Licenses (A or B Classification(s) or C Specialty licenses) relevant to the specific bid packages they are interested in. The project will be divided into multiple bid packages including but not limited to:
- Site Provisions
- Temporary Fencing
- SWPPP
- Survey
- Abatement & Demo
- Cast-In-Place Concrete
- Waterproofing
- Painting & Coatings
- Electrical & Low Voltage
- Earthwork
- Shoring
- Wet Utilities
- Off-Sitework.

Period of Performance
The contract is scheduled to commence in October 2025 and conclude in January 2029.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Albert Einstein Academy Charter High School located at 446 26th Street, San Diego, CA 92102.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed contractors with A or B Classification(s) or C Specialty licenses relevant to the scope noted within the bid packages. Additionally, there is a minimum participation requirement for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE) of at least three percent (3%). Prequalifications are due by July 9, 2025 for the District and prior to July 23, 2025 for Sundt Construction Inc. All bidders must comply with Senate Bill (SB) 854 requirements regarding registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
