Background
Balfour Beatty Construction, LLC is soliciting bids on behalf of the San Diego Unified School District for the Johnson Elementary School Interim Housing project. The mission of the San Diego Unified School District is to provide quality education and facilities for its students. This contract aims to facilitate interim housing during construction at Johnson Elementary School, ensuring that educational services can continue without disruption.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the relocation of five relocatable kindergarten classroom buildings for use as interim housing during construction. Specific tasks include:

1. For classrooms B16, B17, B18, and B19:
- Construct new toilet rooms in each relocatable.
- Remove portions of existing floor and ceiling finishes and affected light fixtures.
- Install new stud walls, doors, toilets, sinks, light fixtures, exhaust fans, accessories, and finishes.
- Install new counter/casework with sinks and accessories.
- Remove and replace existing floor finishes with new ones.
- Repaint classroom interiors.
- Install new modular metal decks and ramps.

2. For classroom B20:
- Similar tasks as above including constructing a new toilet room and installing a new modular ramp.

3. Associated site work includes infrastructure upgrades to support the relocatable buildings and amendments to accessible paths of travel.

Period of Performance
The anticipated schedule for this project is from November 18, 2025 to April 10, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Johnson Elementary School located at 1355 Kelton Road, San Diego, CA 92114.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed contractors with A or B classifications or C specialty licenses relevant to the scope noted within the bid packages. Additionally, bidders must satisfy a minimum DVBE participation percentage of at least three percent (3%) for this project and are required to execute a Project Stabilization Agreement (PSA). Prequalifications are due by August 13, 2025.
