Background
San Diego State University Global Campus (SDSU GC) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to solicit proposals from qualified vendors for a comprehensive Student Information System (SIS).
The goal of this RFI is to identify a robust, scalable, and user-friendly system that will enhance operational efficiency, improve the student experience, and provide advanced capabilities for managing course catalogs, registrations, fees, student records, and reporting.
The selected system will replace or augment existing functionalities to create a more integrated and streamlined environment for both administrators and students.
Work Details
The Respondent will be responsible for providing a SaaS Student Information System solution that meets the requirements outlined in this RFI. This includes software licensing, implementation services, data migration, integration with existing systems, training, reporting, documentation, and ongoing support.
Key functionalities required include:
- Course Catalog & Scheduling: Comprehensive management of course offerings including class building, catalog creation, real-time updates on course information, flexible meeting patterns for courses, resource management for scheduling spaces.
- Fee Structure & Billing: Support for variable fees per course, discounts management, payment processing through gateways like Authorize and CashNet.
- Certificates & Awards Management: Tracking of certificates and badges upon completion of courses.
- Reporting & Analysis: Robust reporting capabilities including financial reports by department and detailed tracking of student progress.
- Instructor Information Management: Tracking instructor data including availability and class history.
- Registrations & Payment: Seamless online registration experience with shopping cart functionality and demographic data collection.
