Network Cabling and IDF Build-Out Services

Background
The City of Santa Monica, Information Services Department, is soliciting bids from experienced, individual professional cabling contractors to perform cabling and IDF build out services on an as-required basis. The professional cabling contractors selected will be contracted for an initial term of 2 years, with 3 one-year options to renew, to be exercised at the City’s sole discretion.
The City of Santa Monica Information Services Department oversees the design, installation, and maintenance of network servers, enterprise systems, Cloud solutions, Network and telecommunication systems (fiber optic networks, unified communications, and Wi-Fi) throughout the City. Cabling is an integral part to the support and growth of the City’s Network. Vendors performing cabling services must have the ability to adhere to the City’s Structured Communications Cabling System (SCCS) and IDF build out standards and specifications listed in City of Santa Monica Communications (SCCS) and IDF Build out Standards.

Work Details
The scope of work includes providing Network Cabling and IDF Build-Out Services as required by ISD. This involves adhering to specific SCCS and IDF Build out Standards such as using Belden IBDN 2400 series or better for SCCS, complying with IEEE ANSI/TIA/EIA-607 Minimum Requirements for Grounding and Bonding Standard Specification for IDF, providing proof of test results per jack in both hardcopy and softcopy, among other detailed requirements.
The work also includes relocating network switches, refreshing wireless APs outdoor, providing material and labor to install OSP Cat 6E Cable for outdoor APs Wireless, testing category 6 cable, providing coaxial cabling, link cable – optical fiber cable installation, among other vendor requirements.

Period of Performance
The contract will be initially for a term of 2 years with 3 one-year options to renew at the City’s sole discretion.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in Santa Monica, California.
