Description

The Department of State Hospitals Metropolitan is currently seeking bids for a contractor to perform medical equipment repair and preventative maintenance services on an as needed basis. 6/2/25: Version 2: Q&A
Background
The Department of State Hospitals (DSH) - Metropolitan is seeking bids for a contractor to provide medical equipment repair and preventative maintenance services. The goal of this contract is to ensure that medical equipment is maintained in compliance with the standards set forth by Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations, the Joint Commission, and the Department of Justice. This initiative aligns with DSH's mission to provide high-quality healthcare services.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary materials, supplies, tools, equipment, transportation, licenses, certifications, permits, insurance, and personnel required for medical equipment repair and preventative maintenance services on an as-needed basis. Specific tasks include servicing various types of medical equipment such as vital sign monitors, pulse oximeters, thermometers, defibrillators, suction pumps, nebulizers, CPAP machines, IV pumps, exam tables, and more.

The contractor must ensure that all services meet regulatory standards and are performed by Certified Biomedical Equipment Technicians (CBET). Additionally, the contractor must notify DSH if they intend to utilize Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in their service delivery.

Period of Performance
The anticipated term of the agreement is from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028. All performance under the agreement must be completed by the termination date.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Department of State Hospitals - Metropolitan located in Norwalk, California.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit proof of their legal right to do business in California and be in good standing with the California Secretary of State. They must also provide three references from customers for whom they have provided similar services within the past two years. Bidders are required to have technicians certified as Certified Biomedical Equipment Technicians (CBET). Additionally, bidders must comply with insurance requirements as outlined in Attachment 12 of the solicitation.
