LSCC Window Covering Upgrade Project

Background
The Lucie Stern Community Center, located at 1305 Middlefield Road in Palo Alto, California, is a historic one-story building built in 1934. It serves as a hub for the City of Palo Alto’s Recreation Department and includes facilities for community and children's theater. The goal of this contract is to upgrade the window coverings as part of an interior remodel project to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the center.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Remove existing window drapery and hardware, fabricate new pinch pleat drapery from customer-owned material, and install new window hardware and drapery.

2. Remove existing window shades and hardware, fabricate new flat roman shades from customer-owned material, and install new window shades and hardware.

3. Remove existing door glass window coverings, fabricate new roller shade covering from vendor-supplied material, and install new door glass roller shades and hardware.

4. Supply customer-specified mounting hardware and linings for pinch pleat drapery, flat roman shades, and door glass roller shades.

5. Patch and touch-up paints to match existing finishes.

The contractor must ensure all labor, disposal, materials (except outer curtain fabric), window covering hardware, tools, equipment, and services necessary for the project are provided.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall begin work within seven calendar days after receiving the Notice to Proceed and complete all work within a targeted timeline not exceeding thirty calendar days.

Place of Performance
All work will be performed at the Lucie Stern Community Center located at 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, California.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) to perform public work. They are required to pay general prevailing wages as defined by California labor regulations if the project cost exceeds $25K.
