Description
Background
The Stanislaus Regional Housing Authority is seeking bids from qualified and licensed firms to provide landscaping services at the Arturo Ochoa Migrant Center located at 901 Arizona Circle, Gilroy, CA 95020. The goal of this contract is to maintain the grounds of the center in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. The contract will be for an initial period of 12 months, with four optional one-year renewals.
Work Details
The contractor will provide all tools, equipment, and labor necessary to maintain the grounds, lawns, shrubs, trees, and planting beds (excluding fenced back yard areas) according to the following specifications:
A. Weekly (March 1st - December 31st) / Twice Monthly (January 1st - February 29th):
1. Cut lawn areas and remove clippings from site; mulching lawnmowers permitted.
2. Trim around sprinkler heads, valve boxes, and drains in lawn areas.
3. Edge lawn areas along sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, and curbs.
4. Remove garbage and debris from lawn area before cutting grass.
B. Weekly (Year-Round):
1. Pick up leaves from lawn, parking lot, and driveway areas; do not place leaves in trash receptacles.
2. Blow off sidewalks, parking lot, and driveway areas; do not blow debris into lawns or planters.
3. Maintain flower beds free of weeds using herbicides or other methods.
C. Monthly:
1. Prune and shape shrubs away from buildings and walkways; remove trimmings from property.
2. Trim vines and ground covers on walls/fences to a maximum of six inches from the face.
3. Trim ivy/vines in flowerbed areas off trees and fixtures; remove trimmings from property.
4. Apply pre-emergent herbicide as needed (MSDS to be sent to office).
D. Semi-Annually (April & October):
1. Prune trees ensuring branches do not contact buildings or roofs; remove trimmings from property.
2. Fertilize twice a year (MSDS to be sent to office).
General Requirements:
1. Damage caused by contractor’s activities must be corrected immediately at their expense.
2. Any maintenance needs observed should be reported immediately to the owner.
3. Work will be performed weekly on an agreed day; changes must be documented in writing.
4. All work must be verified by Housing Authority staff before payment.
Period of Performance
The initial contract period is for 12 months starting in April 2026 with four optional one-year renewals.
