Background
The County of Sacramento is seeking to establish contracts with vendors to perform janitorial services at County-owned and leased facilities. The mission of the County is to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of these facilities, which are essential for public service. The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive janitorial services across an estimated fifty-six (56) locations within the County's boundaries, with the potential for additional locations as needed during the contract term.
Work Details
The contractor will provide janitorial services including but not limited to:
- Emptying trash receptacles
- Vacuuming carpeted areas
- Dust mopping and damp mopping hard surface floors
- Cleaning and disinfecting drinking fountains and breakroom sink areas
- Dusting horizontal surfaces in public areas
- Wiping down breakroom surfaces
- Cleaning entrance door handles
- Stocking paper towels in public and breakroom areas.
For medical facilities, services include:
- Emptying trash cans in exam rooms daily
- Wiping down sinks and counters in exam rooms daily
- Sweeping/wet mopping floors in exam rooms daily
- Cleaning glass doors and windows in entry/waiting/lobby areas daily.
Restroom services include sanitizing fixtures, mopping floors, and restocking supplies. The contractor must furnish all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, materials, and supplies to perform the specified janitorial services. Additionally, the contractor is required to maintain a record of each employee working on the contract and ensure that all personnel are competent and capable of performing their duties satisfactorily.
Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract will be one (1) year with an option for six (6) additional one-year renewals at the discretion of the County.
Place of Performance
Janitorial services will be performed at various County-owned and leased facilities located within Sacramento County.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with specific requirements including providing proof of bonding against theft of personal property ($10,000 per occurrence), undergoing a live scan fingerprint criminal history background check for certain secured facilities, and ensuring that all employees have valid driver’s licenses. Contractors must also provide injury and illness prevention training to employees regarding hazardous materials handling.
