Background
The City of Coronado’s Administrative Services Department is seeking to retain a qualified consulting firm with expertise in information technology (IT) to provide consulting services on a fixed schedule and as-needed basis. The goal is to enhance the City’s IT capabilities and support its operational needs. The City, located south of downtown San Diego, operates under a Council-City Manager form of government and aims to utilize the selected consultant for comprehensive IT consulting services.
Work Details
The selected consultant will provide various IT consulting services, including but not limited to:
1. General IT consultation for optimizing performance, security, scalability, and cost-efficiency of IT infrastructure and application systems.
2. Operational optimization of City IT, including evaluation of existing structures and contractor services.
3. Recommendations on IT best practices and project management, including procurement and vendor coordination.
4. Evaluation of electronic licensing systems, telecommunications, audio/visual systems, website management, document management systems, GIS services, mobile communications, cybersecurity measures, and access controls for buildings and facilities.
5. Suggestions for aligning the City’s systems with industry standards and reviewing IT policies related to change management and data management.
6. Recruitment consulting for potential IT management personnel.
Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for an initial term of three (3) years with two (2) one-year renewal options upon mutual consent.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed in Coronado, California.
Bidder Requirements
Consultants must be registered in good standing with the City of Coronado and able to conduct business in California. They must maintain professional liability insurance with coverage of at least $2 million per occurrence and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local conflict of interest laws.
