Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is issuing this Invitation for Price Quote (IFPQ) # 05A2952 for roof and siding replacement services at the San Luis Obispo Maintenance Station. The purpose of this contract is to ensure the integrity and weather-tightness of the facility by replacing existing roofing and siding materials with new metal systems. This project is part of Caltrans' ongoing efforts to maintain state infrastructure.
Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, permits, licenses, travel, and incidentals necessary to remove and legally dispose of existing roofing and siding material and install a new metal roofing and siding system. This includes:
1. Removal of existing metal roofing system.
2. Removal of existing metal siding system.
3. Installation of a new mechanical standing seam metal roofing system.
4. Installation of a new mechanical standing seam metal siding system.
5. Replacement of gutters and downspouts.
6. Replacement of all trim and flashings at two roll-up doors, three windows, and one entry door to ensure a weathertight seal.
Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on May 1, 2026 (estimate) and will expire on April 30, 2027 (estimate). Routine services shall be provided during normal business hours Monday through Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., excluding State holidays.
Place of Performance
All work will be performed at the San Luis Obispo Maintenance Station located at 50 Higuera Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 in San Luis Obispo County.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified small businesses registered with the California Department of General Services (DGS). They must possess a valid Contractor's State License Board (CSLB) license appropriate for the work being undertaken, a valid Motor Carrier Permit from the DMV, and registration with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). Subcontracting is not permitted under this Agreement.
