IFPQ *Certified SB/MB or DVBE Only* HVAC Replacement in San Diego County

Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is issuing this Invitation for Price Quote (IFPQ) # 11A4279 for HVAC replacement services in San Diego County. The goal of this contract is to replace outdated heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure efficient climate control within state facilities. This project is part of Caltrans' ongoing efforts to maintain and improve infrastructure in alignment with state regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, permits, disposal fees, travel, and incidentals necessary to remove three (3) old heat pump HVAC units and install two (2) equivalent new units provided by the contractor. Specific tasks include:
1. Removal of existing HVAC units and associated components including refrigerant recovery.
2. Installation of two (2) new Carrier heat pump split systems (one 5-ton and one 4-ton).
3. Installation of new humidifier and dehumidifier systems.
4. Provision of locking heat pump security cages for the new units.
5. All work must comply with prevailing wage laws and be completed in accordance with Caltrans specifications.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on May 15, 2026, or upon approval by Caltrans, whichever is later, and will expire on May 14, 2027.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the District 11 Museum located at 4024 Taylor Street, San Diego, CA 92110.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified Small Business (SB), Micro Business (MB), or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE). Bidders are required to possess a valid C-20 license from the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) and a current Motor Carrier Permit from the California DMV. Additionally, bidders must comply with all insurance requirements as outlined in the Proposed Form of Agreement.
