IFB Weed and Brush Abatement Services, San Diego County

Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) #11A4077 for Weed and Brush Abatement Services in San Diego County. The purpose of this contract is to provide essential services aimed at fire prevention, erosion control, and aesthetic maintenance along Caltrans Rights of Way.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, safety equipment, and an eight-member crew on an on-call, per Service Request basis to provide weed and brush abatement services to Caltrans. This includes:
1. Providing a crew of 8 members for weed and brush abatement.
2. Services are to be performed at designated locations along various routes in San Diego County as specified in the scope of work.
3. The estimated quantity of service is 60,000 hours at a cost per hour per person based on an 8-hour workday.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2025 (estimate), or upon approval by the Department of General Services (DGS), whichever is later. The agreement will expire on June 30, 2028 (estimate).

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations along Caltrans Rights of Way in San Diego County.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) at the time of bid submission and throughout the duration of the agreement. Bidders must also have a valid C-27 Landscaping license issued by the Contractors State License Board (CSLB).

Additionally, certified Small Businesses (SB) or Micro Businesses (MB) are encouraged to participate, with a preference granted under certain conditions.
