IFB - Utilidor Asbestos Abatement; Building #095 CR-24-225761

Background
The Department of General Services, Facilities Management Division (FMD) of the State of California is seeking bids for asbestos abatement services at the Central Utility Plant (CUP), Building #095, located at 625 Q Street, Sacramento, CA 95811. This initiative is part of FMD's mission to manage, maintain, and operate state buildings and grounds statewide. The goal of this contract is to ensure safe removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials while adhering to all relevant regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for asbestos abatement services which include:

- Removal and disposal of thermal system insulation (TSI) on steam and high- and low-pressure condensate pipes and associated expansion joints. Approximately 462 linear feet will require abatement.

- Installation of new insulation that meets current regulations post-abatement.

- Installation of critical barriers and engineering controls to isolate work areas.

- Provision of HEPA filtered negative air machines and decontamination chambers.

- Air monitoring and clearance testing after each section's completion by a qualified lab.

- Additional insulation services including installation of thermal jackets rated for high temperatures.

- Emergency repair services as needed during the contract term.

Period of Performance
The anticipated period of performance for this agreement is 36 months from the date of contract award.
