IFB Roll-Up Door Replacement in San Joaquin County

Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) #32A0695 for the replacement of roll-up doors in San Joaquin County. The goal of this contract is to enhance the security and functionality of Caltrans facilities by replacing 20 commercial-grade steel roll-up doors and operators, which are essential for the operation of their equipment repair shop.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, permits, fees, travel, and incidentals necessary to replace 20 commercial-grade steel roll-up doors and operators. The services will be performed at Caltrans Equipment Repair Shop 10 located at 1603 South B Street, Stockton, CA 95206. The work includes:

1. Removing and legally disposing of existing roll-up door assemblies and operators.
2. Installing new commercial-grade roll-up door assemblies and operators as per specifications outlined in STD 213, Exhibit A.
3. Providing an hourly rate for unforeseen work as directed by the Caltrans Contract Manager.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on June 1, 2026 (estimate) or upon approval by Caltrans, whichever is later. The work must be completed within 60 business days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The contract will expire on May 31, 2027 (estimate).

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at Caltrans Equipment Repair Shop 10 located at 1603 South B Street, Stockton, CA 95206 in San Joaquin County.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid C-28 Lock and Security Equipment Contractor or C-61/D-28 Doors, Gates, and Activating Devices Contractor license issued by the California Contractor's State License Board (CSLB) at the time of bid submission. They must also have a current registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). Additionally, bidders are encouraged to meet a minimum participation requirement of three percent (3%) for Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE) and comply with small business participation goals as outlined in Executive Order S-02-06.
