IFB P2620007, North Central Region 2 Hatchery Rendering Services

Background
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is responsible for raising salmon, steelhead, and trout for release into the wild during the annual spawning season. Due to the mortality of fish and fish eggs that occurs during normal hatchery operations, CDFW seeks to contract with a rendering service company to ensure proper disposal of dead fish and fish eggs.

Work Details
The contractor will provide rendering services which include picking up dead fish and fish eggs from various hatcheries. The scope of work involves:
- Rendering Services at Nimbus Fish Hatchery (NFH) for 4 pickups each fiscal year from 2026 to 2029.
- Rendering Services at Feather River Fish Hatchery (FRFH) for 11 pickups each fiscal year from 2026 to 2029.
- Rendering Services at American River Trout Hatchery (ARTH) for 12 pickups each fiscal year from 2026 to 2029.

The total contract budget is capped at $37,000.00, with specific rates outlined in the Bid Cost Sheet.

Period of Performance
The contract term will commence on July 1, 2026, or upon contract approval, whichever is later, and will continue through June 30, 2029.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations including Nimbus Fish Hatchery (NFH), Feather River Fish Hatchery (FRFH), and American River Trout Hatchery (ARTH) in California.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be legally constituted and qualified to do business in California. They must not be listed on the tax delinquency list as per Section 7063 or 19195 of the Revenue and Taxation Code. Additionally, bidders must maintain all necessary licenses and registrations throughout the contract term, including a Motor Carrier Permit from the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
