IFB Janitorial Services in Oakland

Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) #04A7145 for Janitorial Services in Oakland, CA. The purpose of this contract is to ensure a clean and sanitary work environment for Caltrans employees at their District 4 office building located at 111 Grand Avenue, Oakland, CA 94612. This contract aligns with Caltrans' commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in state facilities.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, tools, travel, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to perform daily janitorial services. Specific tasks include:

1. Daily cleaning services from Monday to Friday during specified hours:
- 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM for three (3) Custodian I positions.
- 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM for twelve (12) Custodian I positions.
- 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM for one (1) Custodian II position.

2. The total area to be serviced includes approximately 43,000 square feet per floor across floors 11 through 15 of the office building. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that all areas are cleaned according to Caltrans standards and that all cleaning supplies are provided by Caltrans.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on June 1, 2025, and will expire on May 31, 2028.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Caltrans District 4 office building located at 111 Grand Avenue, Oakland, CA 94612.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a current and valid registration with the Department of Industrial Relations’ Labor Commissioner’s Office as required by the California Property Service Workers Protection Act. Additionally, bidders must comply with Government Code §19134 regarding wages and employee benefits. Bidders are encouraged to participate in small business programs; certified Small Businesses (SB) or Micro Businesses (MB) are preferred. No subcontracting is permitted under this Agreement.
