IFB Evaporative Cooler, Exhaust Fan and Ceiling Fan Installations, Ukiah, CA Mendocino County

Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) #32A0687 for the installation of evaporative cooler units, exhaust fans, and ceiling fans at their facility in Ukiah, Mendocino County.
The goal of this contract is to enhance the climate control systems within the facility to improve working conditions and operational efficiency.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, tools, materials, equipment, supplies, parts, permits, fees, travel, disposal fees, and incidentals necessary to complete the following installations:
- Five (5) new wall mount evaporative cooler units
- Five (5) controllers for the coolers
- Five (5) wall mount structures
- Two (2) gable mounted exhaust fans with individual thermostats
- Four (4) seven-foot diameter reversible various speed ceiling fans with controllers
- One (1) twelve-foot diameter reversible various speed ceiling fan with a controller.
All work must comply with the specifications outlined in the Proposed Form of Agreement and Exhibit A.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on April 28, 2026, and will expire on April 27, 2027.
Work shall be performed during normal business hours from Monday to Friday between 6:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding State holidays.

Place of Performance
All work will be performed at Caltrans District 1 Equipment Shop located at 3290 North State St, Ukiah, CA 95482.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid C-20 (Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning Contractor) license issued by the California Contractors State License Board at the time of bid submission.
Additionally, bidders must have a current registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
The contract requires compliance with prevailing wage laws if the total bid exceeds $15,000. Bidders are encouraged to include subcontracting plans that meet small business participation goals as outlined in the IFB.
