IFB #C24-32866 Refrigeration Preventative Maintenance (San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside and Kern Counties)

Background
The California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) is responsible for providing training, licensure, and self-employment opportunities for individuals who are legally blind. This contract aims to support the Business Enterprises Program (BEP) by ensuring the maintenance and repair of food service and vending facility equipment owned by the BEP, in compliance with the Randolph-Sheppard Act and California Welfare and Institutions Code.

Work Details
The contractor will provide commercial refrigeration service and repair, including replacement parts, for equipment located at various facilities in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Kern Counties. Services include repairs on refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, salad bars, frozen yogurt machines, and wall-mounted air conditioning units.

All work must be performed at the facility unless removal is authorized in writing. The contractor must respond to service requests within four hours and complete emergency services within six hours. Additionally, the contractor is responsible for providing estimates prior to service authorization and ensuring all parts used are original manufacturer parts.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on December 1, 2024 or upon approval, whichever is later, and will continue through November 30, 2027.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed across multiple locations in San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Kern Counties.
