IFB 7CA07542 - Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Cleaning, Maintenance, and Repair Services

Background
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) #7CA07542 for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Cleaning, Maintenance, and Repair Services. The goal of this contract is to ensure that all PPE used by CAL FIRE personnel meets safety standards set forth by the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CalOSHA) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1851.

This initiative is critical to maintaining the safety of employees against physical, chemical, and radiological hazards.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary materials, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, transportation, and fees to deliver comprehensive PPE cleaning services at the CAL FIRE Training Center in Ione. Services must comply with CalOSHA and NFPA standards. Specific tasks include:
- Cleaning and inspection of structure coats and pants.
- Hydrostatic testing of coat and pant liners.
- Repair services including alterations (shortening/lengthening hems and sleeves), hardware replacements (zippers, clasps), and liner repairs.
- Miscellaneous repairs such as bartacking for wildland and structure gear.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for a term of three years from the date of award.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the CAL FIRE Training Center located at 4501 State Highway 104, Ione, CA 95640.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed to operate in California and provide proof of compliance with NFPA 1851 as an Independent Service Provider. Bidders are encouraged to include participation from Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE) but are not required to meet a specific goal.

A minimum of 25% of the net bid price should be subcontracted to certified Small Businesses or Micro Businesses if applicable. Bidders must also comply with California Civil Rights Laws and submit required certifications.
