IFB: 2CA07604 - Devil's Garden Fire Center Administration Remodel

Background
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) for the remodeling of the Devil's Garden Fire Center Administration Building located in the Lassen-Modoc Unit.

The purpose of this contract is to enhance the facilities used by CAL FIRE to fulfill its mission of protecting California's natural resources from fire and other hazards. The goal is to provide a modernized and functional administrative space that supports CAL FIRE's operations.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, transportation, and fees necessary to remodel the Devil's Garden Fire Center Administration Building. This includes but is not limited to demolition, construction, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC modifications, and any other related services required to complete the project as specified in the IFB documentation.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon award and must be completed within a specified timeframe as detailed in the bid documents. The exact duration will be determined based on the contractor's proposal and project schedule.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Devil's Garden Fire Center located at 2300 County Road 74, Alturas, CA 96101.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must meet several qualifications including:
- Being licensed to do business in California;
- Holding a valid A-General Engineering Contractor or B-General Building Contractor license;
- Being registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR);
- Providing a Bidder’s Bond if the bid exceeds $461,000;
- Complying with DVBE participation goals of 3%.

Additionally, bidders must submit various required attachments including certification forms related to small business participation and compliance with state contracting laws.
