IFB 2CA07286 - As-Needed Bare Equipment Rentals

Background
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) #2CA07286 for As-Needed Bare Equipment Rentals. The purpose of this contract is to provide essential equipment rental services to support CAL FIRE's operations across various Northern Region Units. This initiative aligns with CAL FIRE's mission to protect California's natural resources and enhance public safety through effective fire management and emergency response.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, transportation, and fees necessary for bare equipment rental services on an as-needed basis. The services will be provided to the following CAL FIRE Northern Region Units:

- Amador El-Dorado Unit (AEU)
- Butte Unit (BTU)
- San Mateo-Santa Cruz Unit (CZU)
- Humboldt-Del Norte Unit (HUU)
- Lassen-Modoc Unit (LMU)
- Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit (LNU)
- Mendocino Unit (MEU)
- Nevada-Yuba-Sutter Unit (NEU)
- Santa Clara Unit (SCU)
- Shasta-Trinity Unit (SHU)
- Siskiyou Unit (SKU)
- Tehama-Glenn Unit (TGU)

Specific equipment includes generators of various kilowatt ratings, portable air conditioners, boom lifts, heavy equipment such as excavators and loaders, and other vehicles like dump trucks and water trucks. The contractor must ensure that all equipment is available for rental as specified in the rate sheet provided in the bid documents.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on June 1, 2025, or upon approval by the California Department of General Services (DGS), whichever is later. The contract is expected to expire on May 31, 2028.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various CAL FIRE Northern Region Units located throughout California.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed to do business in California and provide proof of a valid Motor Carrier Permit issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Bidders are encouraged to include participation from Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBE) and Small Businesses. A DVBE goal is not required but participation is encouraged. Bidders must complete the required attachments including:
