Background
The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is a Special District in California responsible for operating passenger and freight rail services in Sonoma, Marin, and Napa Counties. SMART utilizes the IBM Maximo® Maintenance Management System as its primary inventory and asset management tool. The goal of this contract is to secure proposals from qualified firms to provide technical support and maintenance services for SMART's Maximo® system, ensuring its functionality and reliability while assisting with process improvements.
Work Details
The selected Consultant will manage SMART’s Maximo® software licensing program, which includes:
1) Supplying annual renewal licenses;
2) Performing regular system maintenance;
3) Providing technical support services;
4) Offering on-call development, configuration, and advisory support;
5) Assisting in identifying and implementing process improvements across various teams including inventory, finance, vehicle maintenance, operations, track, and facilities.
The Consultant must demonstrate expertise in Maximo® configurations, workflows, BIRT report writing, and advising public agencies on asset management.
Period of Performance
The contract has a base term of three years starting from July 1, 2026, with two optional one-year extensions available at SMART's discretion.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at locations designated by the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART), primarily within Sonoma County and Marin County in California.
Bidder Requirements
Proposers must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. They should have experience with IBM Maximo® systems and be able to provide evidence of prior successful projects related to similar work. Proposers must also disclose any potential conflicts of interest as per California law.
