Background
The Department of State Hospitals (DSH) is seeking bids for a contractor to provide Hearing Aid & Audiology Supporting Services at the Coalinga facility. The goal of this contract is to assist medical staff in delivering high-quality medical care while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary materials, supplies, tools, equipment, transportation, licenses, certifications, permits, insurance, and personnel to deliver Hearing Aid & Audiology Supporting Services on an as-needed basis. Services must meet the requirements set forth by Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations regarding community care licensing, the Joint Commission, and the Department of Justice.
Specific services include:
- Audiograms
- New hearing aids (including ear molds and batteries)
- Ear mold replacements
- Evaluations of hearing aid functions that do not require repair or adjustment
- Minor hearing aid repairs or adjustments
- Manufacturer repairs.
An allowance for accessories and/or parts replacement is set at $35,000. The total bid amount shall not exceed $545,000.
Period of Performance
The anticipated term of the agreement is from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Department of State Hospitals – Coalinga located at 24511 W. Jayne Ave., P.O. Box 5000, Coalinga, CA 93245.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit proof of their legal right to do business in California and provide a copy of their current license issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs for Audiology and Hearing Dispenser Bureau. They must also certify compliance with insurance requirements as outlined in Attachment 13.
Bidders are required to provide three references from customers for whom they have provided similar services within the last two years. Additionally, bidders must comply with any applicable preferences for small businesses or disabled veteran business enterprises.
