Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking a contractor to provide hazardous materials sampling, testing, surveying, and recommendations for possible abatement/remediation work in Pasadena, South Pasadena, and Los Angeles, California. This initiative aligns with Caltrans' commitment to ensuring safety and compliance with environmental regulations.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, travel, and incidentals necessary to provide the following services:

1) Hazardous materials sampling for asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold;
2) Testing and surveying of commercial or multi-family structures/properties up to 3,000 square feet;
3) Additional charges for properties exceeding specified square footage;
4) Clearance testing and reports for residential and commercial structures;
5) Compliance with all applicable regulations as outlined in Exhibit A of the Proposed Form of Agreement.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution and is expected to be completed within a specified timeframe as detailed in the bid documents.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed in Pasadena, South Pasadena, and Los Angeles, California.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), have a minimum of five years of experience in hazardous materials testing and surveying, provide resumes for key personnel demonstrating required certifications (including CalOSHA certification for asbestos), comply with DVBE participation requirements (5%), and adhere to prevailing wage laws if the bid exceeds $15,000. Additionally, bidders must demonstrate commitment to subcontracting at least 25% of their net bid price to certified small businesses or microbusinesses.
