Background
The County of San Mateo is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for General Security Services to ensure secure and safe facilities for County staff and the public. The County covers most of the San Francisco Peninsula, serving nearly 800,000 residents across various sectors including health care, education, and public safety. The goal is to partner with an experienced security firm to provide comprehensive security services across multiple County facilities.

Work Details
The contractor will provide General Security Services which include:

A. Account Manager;
B. Geolocation tracking software;
C. Security services including general patrols, customer service, response to alarms, liaison with police and emergency services;
D. Employee training in core security competencies;
E. Account documentation and reporting;
F. Mobilization of security personnel;
G. Additional services as required by different departments.

The contractor must maintain well-trained security guards capable of providing inspection services at various locations such as hospitals, offices, court buildings, mental health facilities, marinas, and airports.

Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of three (3) years with an option for two (2) additional years at the County's discretion.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various County locations including hospitals, clinics, offices with public access, court buildings, mental health facilities, marinas, and airports.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must have at least five (5) years of experience providing general security staffing to large organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. They must hold a current Private Patrol Operator License and comply with California Labor Code requirements regarding employee rights to union representation. Additionally, proposers are encouraged to register as local businesses to qualify for procurement preferences.
