Description

Professional accounting services to assess accounting systems and the presentation of accounts. Services include data collection, data preparation, data analysis and reporting. Additionally, the consultant will assist with data analysis to reconstruct, detect or support claims disputing hourly wages and related benefits.
Background
The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, specifically the Harbor Division, is seeking proposals from qualified forensic accounting firms to assist in providing forensic accounting services related to claims disputing hourly wages and related benefits at the City of Los Angeles Harbor Department.

The Harbor Department manages the Port of Los Angeles, a vital economic driver for the region and a key generator of jobs and commerce. The goal of this contract is to support the City Attorney’s Office in addressing Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) claims.

Work Details
The selected firm will provide professional accounting services that include: data collection, data preparation, data analysis, and reporting.

The work will primarily focus on FLSA claims disputing hourly wages and related benefits (estimated at 95% of the workload), with an additional 5% allocated for litigation support. The firm must demonstrate expertise in accounting systems and presentation of accounts relevant to these claims.

Period of Performance
The maximum duration of any contract awarded as a result of this RFP will be three years, with an anticipated initial term of one year and options to renew for up to two additional years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed for the City of Los Angeles Harbor Department, located in San Pedro Bay, California.
