Food Service Providers RFSQ

Background
The County of San Mateo is creating a registry of food providers to assist County staff in planning events and programs. This initiative aims to connect certified food vendors with various County departments, enhancing their ability to source meals for diverse occasions. The registry will be active for two years and is intended to promote local businesses that meet health and safety standards set by the San Mateo County Environmental Health Services.

Work Details
The Food Services Directory will include a variety of food providers capable of fulfilling different catering needs, such as:
- 6 food trucks for a park event
- Catering for 50 people at an event on the Coastside
- 100 grab-and-go Asian bento box lunches
- A formal dinner for 100 guests
- 100 custom cookies for an event giveaway.
Proposers must offer a wide range of menu options including breakfast, lunch, dinner, buffet-style service, plated meals, boxed meals, appetizers, snacks, desserts, and beverages. Menus must accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free options and special dietary requirements. All food must be prepared under sanitary conditions and adhere to food safety standards.

Period of Performance
The contract will be active for two years from the launch date of the registry.

Place of Performance
Services will be provided at various locations within San Mateo County including County offices, community centers, and other event venues.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must be certified by the San Mateo County Environmental Health Services Food Program and possess valid business licenses (business, health, beverage sales/service). They must provide proof of insurance (general liability and worker's compensation) and comply with the California Food Code along with any applicable local health regulations.
