Fire Station 11 - Trade Contractor Notification

Background
The City of Chula Vista has selected Erickson-Hall Construction Co. as the Design-Builder for the Fire Station No. 11 project under the City's Municipal Code Chapter 2.57 DESIGN-BUILD CONTRACTS. This project aims to construct a new fire station to enhance emergency services in the community.

Work Details
The scope of work includes the construction of a new Fire Station No. 11, which will be an 11,790 sq. ft building featuring:

- 3 Apparatus bays
- 10 Dormitories
- Kitchen
- Dining area
- Restrooms
- Day Room
- Exercise Room
- Offices
- Workshop
- Storage areas
- EMS facilities
- Fire Control Room
- Data Room
- Electrical Room
- Other supporting spaces.

The construction will utilize Type-V wood frame with a concrete tile roof and SBS roof. The station will be equipped with mechanical systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, vehicle exhaust removal system, station alerting system, fire alarm system, and an NFPA 13 automatic fire sprinkler system.

- Access roads
- Drive approaches
- Paving for parking areas
- Trash enclosure
- Site walls and fences
- Gates
- Flagpole installation
- Monument sign placement
- Parking light standards installation
- Transformer setup
- Emergency generator provision
- Hose drying rack installation
- Propane tank setup
- Sand-oil interceptor installation
- Fire hydrants placement
- Underground utilities installation and landscaping on a 3.5-acre lot.

Period of Performance
The contract work is scheduled to begin following the bid date of May 8, 2026.

Place of Performance
The project will be performed at 1595 Santa Luna Street, Chula Vista, CA 91913.

Bidder Requirements
Subcontractors must comply with SB 854 requirements and be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). Subcontractors submitting bids over $50,000 must be prepared to furnish performance and payment bonds issued by a corporate security. Erickson-Hall Construction reserves the right to waive this bonding requirement or allow alternate guarantees.
