Fire Protection & Prevention: The Community Education Expansion Project Marketing Agency Services

Background
The County of Butte is seeking a marketing agency to support its Fire Protection and Prevention – Community Education Expansion Project. This initiative aims to reduce wildfire risk, protect life and property, and enhance community resilience through public education. The project is part of a broader strategy that includes defensible-space inspections, vegetation management, and public education programs. The selected agency will work closely with the County Fire Department to improve communication and promote fire-safe behaviors among residents, particularly in high-risk areas that have faced severe wildfires in the past.

Work Details
The selected marketing agency will be responsible for increasing public awareness and providing fire-prevention education through effective marketing strategies over a two-year period. Key tasks include:
- Developing clear messaging on defensible-space requirements, fuel-load reduction, debris removal, and property maintenance responsibilities.
- Creating educational materials tailored to specific audiences, particularly those hesitant to seek information from government sources.
- Implementing a mass education campaign utilizing social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram) and the Be Ready Butte website to disseminate timely information on fire safety and preparedness.
- Coordinating community events and outreach efforts to engage both rural populations and urban residents within the Butte County Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).
- Producing collateral materials such as flyers, banners, fact sheets, brochures, and videos that resonate with local communities.
- Conducting regular reporting on campaign effectiveness and adapting strategies based on feedback.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of 24 months.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed throughout Butte County, including both rural unincorporated areas and the Butte County Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).

Bidder Requirements
Respondents must demonstrate experience in marketing services for government entities or municipalities. They should provide a comprehensive list of references from similar projects detailing their experience in public sector marketing. The proposal must include resumes for key personnel assigned to the project.
