Fire Extinguisher Maintenance IFB #24-20132-000

Background
The Department of State Hospitals (DSH) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) number 24-20132-000 for Fire Extinguisher Maintenance Services. The goal of this contract is to ensure that fire extinguishers at the DSH Metropolitan facility are properly maintained and compliant with safety regulations. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary materials, supplies, tools, equipment, transportation, licenses, permits, insurance, personnel, and a properly equipped service vehicle to deliver these services.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide the following services:

1. Fire Extinguisher Maintenance Services including:
- Annual inspections and maintenance of various types of fire extinguishers (ABC, CO2, Class K, etc.).
- Hydrostatic testing and maintenance as required.
- Recharging of fire extinguishers.
- Disposal of expired or damaged fire extinguishers.
- Provision of new fire extinguishers as needed.

2. Specific quantities include:
- 30 units of 5 lb. ABC Fire Extinguishers
- 40 units of 10 lb. ABC Fire Extinguishers
- 10 units of 5 lb. CO2 Fire Extinguishers
- 10 units of 10 lb. CO2 Fire Extinguishers
- 1 unit of Class K Fire Extinguisher

3. The contractor must also comply with all security provisions when performing work on state hospital grounds.

Period of Performance
The anticipated period of performance for the contract is from June 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Department of State Hospitals – Metropolitan facility located at 11401 S. Bloomfield Avenue, Norwalk, CA.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must meet the following requirements:

1. Proof of legal right to do business in California including a valid business license and any DBA documentation.
2. Certification that they are in good standing with the California Secretary of State.
3. Submission of three references from customers for similar services provided within the last two years.
4. A Certificate of Registration from the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) and a valid Portable Fire Extinguisher Servicing Concern License issued by OSFM.
5. Compliance with insurance requirements as outlined in the solicitation.
