Description

1. Backbone Fiber Installation
Install new singlemode fiber optic cabling from the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) to six (6) Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) locations.
Terminate fiber at both ends using appropriate patch panels.
Provide and install conduit, innerduct, or cable tray as needed for proper support, routing, and protection.
Perform testing and certification of each fiber run; submit documentation.
2. Structured Data Cabling (Admin IDF)
Install new Category 6 or higher cabling from the Admin IDF to designated endpoint locations, including staff workstations and wireless access points.
Work shall include:
o Termination at patch panels and faceplates
o Proper labeling of each run
o Testing and certification of all installed cabling
Background
The City of San Bernardino is seeking qualified vendors for the Feldheym Central Library Network Cabling Upgrade Project. This initiative aims to enhance the library's network infrastructure to improve internal connectivity, support future bandwidth demands, and ensure long-term scalability. The project is contingent upon securing grant funding, and the City reserves the right to cancel or delay the award if funding is not finalized.

Work Details
The project includes the following scope of work:

1. Backbone Fiber Installation: Install new singlemode fiber optic cabling from the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) to six Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) locations; terminate fiber at both ends using appropriate patch panels; provide and install conduit, innerduct, or cable tray as needed for proper support, routing, and protection; perform testing and certification of each fiber run and submit documentation.

Period of Performance
The vendor must be available to begin work within 125 calendar working days of contract award and complete all project elements within 60 calendar days of site work commencement.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Norman F. Feldheym Central Library located at 555 W 6th St., San Bernardino, California.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must possess a valid California Contractor License (C-7 or C-10) for low voltage systems or electrical contracting. All contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) for public works projects. The successful vendor must comply with prevailing wage laws as outlined in California Labor Code sections 1720 et seq. Vendors are required to provide proof of insurance covering general liability, automobile liability, workers' compensation, professional liability, and any other necessary coverage.
