Background
The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) Office of Farm to Fork (CDFA-F2F) is initiating a Request for Proposal (RFP) to enhance its Farm to School program. This program aims to support farm to school efforts by providing events, trainings, conducting a food education landscape analysis, and delivering storytelling and communications services.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for three main projects:
1) Events and Trainings ($800,000): Coordinate the 2026 California Statewide Farm to School Conference and 8-24 regional convenings, including planning logistics, day-of coordination, and post-event follow-up.
2) Food Education Landscape Analysis ($250,000): Conduct case studies and collect data to provide recommendations for enhancing hands-on food education within the 'Farm to School Roadmap for Success.'
3) Storytelling and Communications ($250,000): Develop compelling multimedia communications that convey program activities and outcomes to stakeholders and elected officials. Deliverables include comprehensive work plans, event materials, reports on findings, strategic communications plans, and multimedia pieces.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 1, 2026, or upon final approval from the Department of General Services/Office of Legal Services (DGS/OLS), whichever is later. The contract will continue through December 31, 2029.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed throughout California as part of the statewide outreach efforts.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate experience in event planning with attendance sizes of over 100 participants. They should have virtual event coordination experience, budget management skills, knowledge of event registration systems, and capacity in managing large-scale data collection for analysis. Additionally, bidders must comply with Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) participation requirements of at least 3% of the total bid cost.
