FAC03-2526 Polytechnic High School Improvements Project

Background
The Long Beach Unified School District is issuing a contract for the Polytechnic High School Improvements Project, which aims to enhance the facilities at Polytechnic High School. The project includes significant site improvements to support educational and athletic activities, aligning with the district's mission to provide quality education and facilities for its students.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Demolition of all existing buildings and shade structures;
2. Construction of a new natural turf softball/soccer field meeting CIF regulations;
3. Installation of associated fencing, gates, dugouts, batting cages (one for each team), and bleachers with a capacity for 121 spectators;
4. Installation of a modular building on permanent foundations for concessions, restrooms, and storage;
5. Designated space for storage containers;
6. Multi-sport field lighting and scoreboard;
7. Perimeter fencing, gates, and sports netting;
8. Accessible parking in the existing lot;
9. Reconfiguration of all existing site utilities.

Period of Performance
The project duration is set for 365 consecutive calendar days, with an initial base scope completion timeframe of eight months followed by a four-month establishment and maintenance period for planting.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Polytechnic High School located at 1600 Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach, CA 90813.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid B license at the time of bid submission and maintain it throughout the project duration. Additionally, bidders are required to have been prequalified by the District prior to bidding. Subcontractors performing electrical, mechanical, or plumbing work must also be prequalified under specific license classifications (C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, or C-46). A bid security of 10% of the total bid amount is required along with performance and payment bonds upon contract award.
