Background
The Port of San Francisco is issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the demolition of buildings and structures at Pier 90, which previously housed grain mill operations from 1923 until the early 1990s. The site includes various structures such as concrete-reinforced grain silos, grain elevators, and a timber wharf that have fallen into disrepair.

The goal of this contract is to enhance safety and security by demolishing vacant structures that have attracted trespassers and vandalism, thereby preparing the site for future development opportunities.

Work Details
The base bid scope includes:
1) Demolition of all landside buildings and structures on Pier 90, excluding the grain silos;
2) Abandonment of underground utilities in place;
3) Hazardous material abatement as necessary.

There are three additive bid alternates:
1) Demolition of six pile-supported steel loading towers;
2) Demolition of the dilapidated timber wharf deck and pilings;
3) Installation of additional security fencing. The six concrete dolphin structures will remain intact as they are in good condition.

Period of Performance
The landside work is expected to take 320 consecutive calendar days. Waterside work must be completed by November 30, 2026.

The contract will be performed at Pier 90 in San Francisco, California.
