Background
The Real Estate Division of the City Administrator’s Office (RED) of San Francisco seeks proposals from nonprofit organizations to operate the Alemany Farmers’ Market located at 100 Alemany Blvd. The market, established in 1943, is California's longest-running farmers' market and operates year-round every Saturday.

The selected operator will collaborate with RED and other city departments to maintain current operations, including food assistance programs that support low-income customers. These programs include EBT, Market Match, WIC, SNAP, and others aimed at increasing purchasing power for fresh produce.

Work Details
The Operator will manage all aspects of the Alemany Farmers’ Market, including:
1. Operating the market every Saturday from 6am to 4pm (public hours from 7am to 3pm).
2. Providing outreach and communication with farmers and community members.
3. Managing vendor selection, stall fees, and compliance with local regulations.
4. Ensuring a dignified experience for customers using food assistance programs by providing bilingual services and maintaining EBT devices.
5. Developing signage in multiple languages (English, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese).
6. Administering customer satisfaction surveys annually for both customers and vendors.
7. Maintaining safety protocols during market hours and ensuring a clean environment.

Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of 2.25 years with options to extend up to a total of 10 years based on funding availability and performance.
