Background
The Department of Water Resources (DWR), part of the California Natural Resources Agency, is seeking qualified firms to provide environmental and engineering services.
The DWR's mission includes managing water resources and ensuring sustainable practices in California. This contract aims to support various programs under the Division of Multibenefit Initiatives (DMI), focusing on projects related to flood management, habitat restoration, and ecological improvements across the state.
Work Details
The services required include environmental and engineering support for the following programs: Riverine Stewardship Program, Systemwide Flood Risk Reduction (SFRR) Program, Facilitating Improvement of Systemwide Habitat (FISH), Land Stewardship Program, and Delta Levees Program.
Specific tasks include developing and implementing fish-related improvement projects, multi-benefit flood risk reduction projects, riparian and floodplain restoration projects, drought response activities, and compliance with state and federal permits. The contractor will also provide hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for delta and riverine environments. Typical projects may include:
- Shasta Juvenile Salmon Collection System Pilot Study
- Sunset Weir Removal Fish Passage Improvement Project
- North Fork Feather River Salmon Studies.
Period of Performance
The estimated term for this agreement is from February 17, 2025 through February 16, 2028, with options for up to two one-year amendments.

Work will be performed throughout the State of California in various DWR work areas and river watersheds.
