Electric Vehicle Charging Station Installation, Operations, and Maintenance Services

Background
The City of Claremont, located 30 miles east of Los Angeles and with a population of over 37,000, is seeking proposals for the installation, operation, and maintenance of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

The city currently owns five dual-port level 2 charging stations and aims to enhance its EV infrastructure at low or no cost to the city. This initiative aligns with the city's commitment to sustainability and improving public access to EV charging facilities.

Work Details
The project is divided into two phases:

Phase 1 involves the design, permitting, construction, operation, and maintenance of five dual-port charging stations to replace existing chargers on City-owned property at no direct cost to the City. The locations for these existing chargers include:
1) Parking Lot west of 225 West Second Street, Claremont, CA 91711;
2) Ground Floor of Parking Structure, 470 W. First St., Claremont, CA 91711.

Phase 2 may include recommendations for expanding the program based on the success of Phase 1 and could involve additional sites such as City Hall Parking Lot and various public parks. The successful contractor will provide a turnkey solution that includes planning, design, installation, operation, maintenance, and ownership of the EV charging equipment. The contractor must ensure compliance with all permitting requirements and ADA regulations while providing customer service and maintaining an uptime of over 97% annually.

Period of Performance
The project is scheduled to commence on December 1, 2024, with an initial service term of ten (10) years and two optional five (5) year extensions.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various City-owned properties in Claremont, California including public parking lots in Claremont Village and community centers.
