Description

East High School is interested in installing an audio and video system in its Career Center. Contractors are to provide a professionally engineered audio-visual sound system, equipped with the latest audio-visual and control technology all of which will be provided and installed by the contractor.
As part of the system, three (3) commercial-grade flat-panel TVs will be supplied and installed in key locations within the Career Center as determined by site administration. These displays must support full HD or 4K resolution and be compatible with the integrated AV control system. Each TV will be mounted using secure commercial-grade mounts appropriate for wall or ceiling installation, depending on the selected locations.
Each wall input plate will allow connection to all TVs in each area or operate independently through a digital media switcher. The library audio inputs will be channeled through a new audio amplifier to new ceiling-mounted speakers strategically installed in the ceiling for optimal sound.
The contractor will supply and install a Touch Panel for controls on all audio and visual components. The control panel will be installed at a specific location determined by the school site administration. The control system will supply all the display controls, video routing, as well as controlling the audio system volume. The contractor will professionally program all settings, EQ ranges, for optimum sound quality.
The control system, the digital signal processor, amplifier, and microphones will all be installed inside a new contractor-provided and contractor-installed Middle Atlantic equipment rack. The equipment rack will have a locking plexiglass front door and a storage drawer.
Two wireless microphones will be contractor-provided and contractor-installed, along with any other necessary equipment to support presentations and events within the room. Contractor is to provide and install an ALS (Assistive Listening System) transmitter and a minimum number of receivers to accommodate 4 percent of the total room's occupancy.
This audio/video system is to be integrated with each other and delivered as a fully operational, ready-to-use system upon completion.
Background
The Kern High School District is issuing a contract for the East Bakersfield High School Career Center AV Upgrade.
The goal of this project is to enhance the audio-visual capabilities of the Career Center by installing a state-of-the-art audio-visual sound system, which aligns with the district's mission to provide quality education and facilities for its students.

Work Details
Contractors are required to provide and install a professionally engineered audio-visual sound system that includes:
- Three (3) commercial-grade flat-panel TVs supporting full HD or 4K resolution, to be installed in key locations as determined by site administration.
- Secure commercial-grade mounts for wall or ceiling installation of each TV.
- Wall input plates allowing connection to all TVs or independent operation through a digital media switcher.
- A new audio amplifier connected to ceiling-mounted speakers for optimal sound distribution.
- A Touch Panel for controlling all audio and visual components, installed at a location specified by school administration.
- Professional programming of settings and EQ ranges for optimal sound quality.
- Installation of control system components, including a digital signal processor, amplifier, and microphones within a contractor-provided Middle Atlantic equipment rack featuring a locking plexiglass front door and storage drawer.

The entire system must be integrated and delivered as fully operational upon completion.

Period of Performance
The project is anticipated to start on approximately August 18, 2025, with a duration of ten calendar days for completion.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at East Bakersfield High School located at 2200 Quincy Street, Bakersfield, CA 93306.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must possess a valid and active contractor's license of classification C7 and/or C10.
This project is subject to prevailing wage laws, requiring compliance with California Labor Code provisions regarding payment of prevailing wages.
Contractors must also provide various insurance coverages including Workers’ Compensation and Comprehensive General Liability with specified limits.
